Ray Hill, his wife Judith, and his daughter, Joanna have been part of the team who sold cakes at The Churchill Hospital. Even though the venue for these quarterly events has withdrawn permission for us to continue with our Cake Sales, this intrepid trio were determined not to be stopped.
On Saturday 16 July 2016, a year on from when Ray had his operation, they organised their own afternoon tea.
As you can see from the pictures below they did not attempt to compete with an HRH Garden Party at Buck House. In spite of this they raised in excess of £400. As Jo said "... a very successful and simple idea that raised a nice amount of money."
Naturally OOSO is extremely grateful for this unsolicited contribution and can confirm that the money raised will, indeed, be used to benefit other patients and carers.
If you too would like to help others there are some other ideas on this page. Rest assured that your efforts will be greatly appreciated by the patients, their carers and by the medical team.
