Summer BBQ and Cycle Ride

We’re very pleased to confirm that our upcoming summer BBQ and sponsored cycle ride will take place on Saturday 5th August, 2 - 6pm, at our regular and most favourite venue, the Barn in Wytham Woods. Please get it in your diary and don't miss it!  

Our BBQ's are always well attended, fun occasions in a beautiful and rather exclusive location, and a great opportunity to sample Ann Dennis's fantastically famous fare. A Trustee of OOSO,  Ann is an experienced and fully trained chef, having worked in many of the top end restaurants, and for years since runs her own very successful and busy catering business, "Ann's Munchies". 

Due to scheduling issues we brought the event forward this year, to bang on mid-summer, hoping for a lovely, warm and sunny day, oh dear famous last words! 

There's no need to book, just turn up on the day, but if you’d also like to be involved in the cycle ride drop me a line here. You can let us know nearer the time if that suits you better. We’ll provide more details about the BBQ and ride over the coming weeks - watch this space!

As you know, we're currently running our annual photo competition until the end of this month.  So far we've had a good number of submissions to a very high standard, but the door is still wide open for more special snaps. This year we've decided to display the initial entries in a slideshow on our website home page - you can view them here.

To enter, all you have to do is email the webmaster 3-4 of your favourite pictures, there's no rules and no fuss. There'll be a nice prize for the overall winner and two runners up.

Looking ahead to our café lunches we have the following venues and dates in the diary:

• Tuesday 16th May, 12:30pm:  Dobbies Garden Centre, Swindon, SN2 7SE
• Monday 12th June, 12:30pm:  Waterperry gardens, Oxford, OX33 1LA

It’ll be great to see you at one or all of these, just drop me a line here in advance so we can book you in.

And whilst we're listing dates, our next three Zoom sessions will take place on:

• Tuesday 2nd May at 7pm
• Tuesday 13th June at 7pm
• Tuesday 25th July at 7pm

We’re still working up topics and themes for these, so if you’d like to join in and suggest something of interest ping me a quick email and I'll be in touch. 

Needless to say, all our zooms are engaging and light, offering something for everyone. And if you’re not already signed up to our rolling invite list for all future meetings, just drop me a line here and you'll receive the link and agenda a week ahead of each meeting.
